This is a blog dedicated to the West Los Angeles shelter dogs. Here you will find useful information on these wonderful adoptable dogs and what type of person might be a good match for them. The main goal of this blog is to encourage more people to adopt shelter dogs!
Please support SAAFLA, a non-profit organization that facilitates the rescue of shelter dogs as well as offering education and support to adopters of shelter dogs.
It's Chow time! Two beauties, mother and son A1149450 & A1149452
Momma Malina (A1149450, 6 years old) and her son Mikey (A1149452, 2 years old, now on meds for URI), both a bit shy initially, are recovering from the shock of being left behind at the shelter. It's a cruel fate for two tender dogs who had always been together. Yet these two have the quiet composure and subtle demeanor that has allowed them to interact with new dogs and new people -- and both have scored 100%!!! Momma Malina will now come up to the front of her kennel when we approach -- and Mikey never fails to give us his great big grin!!! We've had them out a few times and they have been polite, courteous and oh-so-huggable!!!!! What joy they promise to bring to their new guardian. If you can help save their lives, please call the South L.A. shelter at once (213) 485-0117 or -0119. And kindly let us know that they are looking up at you with hope for the future.
